Anna
Clark is author of Women's Silence, Men's Violence: Sexual Assault
in England, 1770-1845 (1987) and The Struggle for the Breeches:
Gender
and the Making of the English Working Class (1995) , winner of the
British
Council Book Prize of the North American Conference on British Studies.
This talk forms part of her current project on gender and politics in
eighteenth-century Britain.
