Recent Grant Activities
This initiative, undertaken by European Studies and the Capstone Professional Masters of French Studies Program, seeks to strengthen undergraduate and graduate overseas learning opportunities by expanding the Business Internships Program developed through the cooperation of the European Studies Program and the School of Business and by introducing graduate professional internships as a central feature of a new Masters program in French Studies developed under the auspices of the ChancellorÕs Capstone Initiative. This effort will enable a sizeable group of undergraduate and graduate students in the Humanities, the Social Sciences and Business to access overseas internships to satisfy curricular requirements while gaining both significant pre-professional experience and greater insight into the global economy and international business practices. Funding for this effort was made available through International Studies and Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Euro-America Business 2000: Integrating Business Technology and International Studies for a New Era of Intercontinental Relations --- 1997-1999
The European Studies Program and the School of Business have recently sponsored a series of new educational activities under their joint "Euro-America Business 2000" grant funded by the Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Language program of the United States Department of Education. This joint venture seeks to build lasting cross-campus bridges in undergraduate international education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It builds upon college-based international initiatives to create well-defined cross-college certificate programs, innovative interdisciplinary courses in Business, Area Studies and Technology, and advanced course work in Foreign Languages.
