The Global Marketplace: A One-Day K-12 Teacher Workshop (April 20, 2011)

   

The current global economic crisis has done much to highlight the significance of the study of international economics and the interconnectedness of regional and national economies worldwide. UW-Madison international business faculty and regional outreach specialists along with guest speakers from the community explored the global marketplace, provided a survey of international business relations, promoted an awareness and knowledge of cultural influences on business, and presented resources and opportunities available for the study and teaching of international economics, national economies, and business practices.

WORKSHOP AND SPECIAL STUDENT REGISTRATION

All participants must register for the Workshop. The registration fee for the workshop is $25. Registration forms, both online and paper versions, are available at http://www.wioc.wisc.edu/store/2011.htm.

Participants also had the option to earn one UW-Madison graduate credit for successful completion of this course.  While tuition fees were covered by a U.S. Department of Education Grant, participants taking the course for credit were responsible for the payment of UW-Madison segregated fees of $45.75. Click here for the Special Student Registration form. Participants taking the Workshop for credit were required to submit a curricular plan based on the theme of the Global Marketplace. Deadline for submission of these plans is May 9th.


The Workshop is sponsored by the Wisconsin International Outreach Consortium at UW-Madison and run in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
